Garden Landscaping

A newly acquired piece of land full of wildflower, brick rubble and waste turned into a back garden perfect for relaxation and entertaining

Pergola Design & Construction and Porcelain Patio

Phase 1 of this project was to remove old shed, extend concrete base, design and install pergola and porcelain patio. I designed the pergola to give a modern structure using 4x4 posts and beams with slats across the top to provide shade in a sunny south facing garden. The main structure is painted black which is a great colour to use in a garden as it provides a good backdrop for planting and other features enabling different colours to stand out. I used contrasting mahogany coloured slats to provide extra shade and privacy to the sides as well as a frame work for climbing plants such as clematis and passion flower. A living wall was also incorporated into the pergola, planted with ferns and basket flowers. Phase 2 to be completed soon will be to lay a Morrocan inspired tile floor beneath the pergola with a bespoke Ottoman inspired seating/day bed.
